YOU SPY!

HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW JAMAICA PLAIN?

WHEN John Maxfield recently restarted his former boutique real estate agency, Maxfield & Company Real Estate, his goal was to stay connected to his friends and clients in the Jamaica Plain community.

Accordingly, the new Maxfield & Company website incorporates a game about the Jamaica Plain neighborhood. It’s a unique photo challenge; a sort of photo scavenger hunt.

Beginning on August 18th: Each week, 3 photos of a mystery location in Jamaica Plain will be posted on the company’s site. Visitors to the site will then be challenged to guess where the photos were taken.  And each week, prizes will be awarded to a winner drawn from all those with correct guesses.

But not so quick. Though it sounds easy enough, the photos are obscure and the location not so easily guessed.  Therein lies the challenge.

Local businesses will be participating but we can’t tell you which ones.  Otherwise we’d ruin the game for you.  The pictures might be taken at a local business, a public location, or anything in between; but always in JP.

After 10 weeks and 10 locations, a grand prize winner will be announced and given a dinner for 2 at JP’s Ten Tables restaurant.

BACK to the Future:  Maxfield’s newly recreated company operates out of a ’50’s style office in the Centre Building at 685 Centre Street, where it all began back in 1994.  Maxfield started the company there and after quickly expanding, moved first downstairs to the Fire Opal location and then to Prudential’s current location in the bank building across from City Feed.

When Maxfield sold Prudential and left there last year, he and three other local brokers created a unique structure for a real estate office: a cooperative.  Each of the four operate under their own brand but share office space and resources.

Everyone is invited to play the photo challenge game at www.MaxfieldRE.com. simply click on [You Spy] and begin lodging your best guesses.
